§ Questions

Logic to Ableton — common questions

Can you open a Logic file in Ableton?

Not directly — Ableton Live can't open a Logic .logicx project, because .logicx is an Apple-only package format. Doseedo converts it: upload your .logicx (zip the project folder first) and it rebuilds the session as a native Ableton .als set you can open and keep working in.

What carries over from Logic to Ableton?

Audio and instrument/MIDI tracks with names and colors, clips with fades and clip gain, MIDI notes, CC and pitch bend, tempo, time signature and tempo/meter maps, section markers, volume/pan/breakpoint automation, and buses and sends. Core compressor, reverb and delay parameters map to Ableton's native devices, and off-rate audio is resampled to your Ableton project's sample rate so pitch and speed stay correct.

Do my plugins transfer from Logic to Ableton?

Stock compressor, reverb and delay devices are recreated as Ableton's nearest native equivalent with their core controls carried across. Other plugins are placed on the correct track but their full preset state isn't reconstructed in Ableton's format — they arrive as a placed device slot, and you can disable risky ones (like Kontakt) before converting. Plugins with no Ableton equivalent come in as a default or disabled slot. Full plugin state round-trips only through the Doseedo desktop app.

Is my project private?

Your project is uploaded over an encrypted connection into your own private space, converted, and is yours to delete anytime.

How many conversions are free?

5 conversions a month with no account, or 20 with a free account, both at full fidelity. Pro is $9.99/mo for unlimited conversions, no watermark, cancel in one click. One conversion is one project translated one direction; a round-trip is two.
