Rights and use

George Frideric Handel died in 1759, so the composition is in the public domain in the US and in the countries that protect a work for its author’s life plus 70 years. The edition this recording plays (PDMX) is released under CC0, so the notes carry no conditions either. Open it in Score Studio to time it to your video: the render you make there is yours to use, in an ad too (Terms §6.3).

About the piece

Isaac Watts published the words in 1719. The tune, Antioch, was arranged by Lowell Mason in 1839 from phrases that echo Handel, which is why it is often credited to him.

It starts at the top — a falling scale like a peal of bells — so it works when a spot has to be festive from the first frame.

Sounds exuberant, bright · Cuts well to openers, retail and grocery spots, upbeat montages
