Is Christmas classical music royalty-free?
The compositions on this page are in the public domain: their composers died long ago, so the music belongs to everyone. A recording or an edition can carry its own rights, so each piece’s page says what is free to use and on what terms.
Can I use the Nutcracker in an ad?
Tchaikovsky died in 1893, so The Nutcracker is public domain. Open the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy or the Waltz of the Snowflakes in Score Studio, time it to your video, and the render you make is yours to use (Terms §6.3).
How do I fit a carol to a 15- or 30-second spot?
Press “Time it to your video” on the piece’s page. Score Studio opens with the piece loaded; upload your cut and the composer chooses where it starts, lands it on your cuts and ends it on your last frame. Ask, and it re-renders the piece to your exact length.
Do I need to credit anyone?
Not for the compositions. An edition under CC BY asks for a credit to the edition; its page names the credit to give.
