How to convert Bitwig to Logic
Updated October 2026
Convert .dawproject to .logicx now
Upload a .dawproject (Bitwig: File › Export… › DAWproject) and download a native Logic Pro .logicx project. 3 conversions a month free, no account.
Bitwig Studio saves projects as .bwproject files and exports the open DAWproject format, a .dawproject. Logic Pro reads neither. Doseedo converts the exported .dawproject: upload it, download a native Logic Pro .logicx project with the arrangement rebuilt.
Why there's no built-in way
Bitwig’s own .bwproject format is undocumented, and Logic Pro can’t open it. Bitwig Studio (5 and later) exports DAWproject — the open project format Bitwig created with PreSonus — but Logic Pro doesn’t read DAWproject (see which DAWs do). So the usual route is stems, which flattens the project. Converting the exported .dawproject keeps it editable.
How the conversion works
In Bitwig Studio choose File › Export… › DAWproject and upload that one file — it carries the tracks, clips, notes, audio, mixer and plugins, with the audio inside it. Doseedo reads it and rebuilds the project as a native Logic Pro .logicx project. A native .bwproject can’t be read; any .dawproject converts the same way, whoever wrote it — Studio One 6.5+ and Cubase 14+ export one too.
What carries over — and what doesn't
Bitwig → Logic carries the arrangement, honestly scoped. What arrives editable: tracks and group tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; clips with every note; audio with its files (they travel inside the .dawproject); tempo and time signature; markers; and sends.
Third-party effects arrive as the same plugin with their saved settings when the plugin is installed on the Logic machine. The format’s built-in EQ, compressor, gate and limiter map to Logic’s own devices with their settings. Bitwig’s own instruments and devices, CLAP plugins and clip gain don’t come across — the report names each one. Automation isn’t promised on this pair yet. Nothing is silently dropped — every conversion comes with a report of what changed.
Do I need Bitwig or Logic installed?
Bitwig Studio writes the .dawproject, so the export happens there — if someone already sent you the .dawproject, you don’t need Bitwig at all. The conversion itself needs no DAW; you need Logic Pro to open the result.

FAQ
Can you convert a Bitwig Studio project to Logic Pro?
Yes. Upload a .dawproject to Doseedo and download a native Logic Pro .logicx project. What arrives editable: tracks and group tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; clips with every note; audio with its files (they travel inside the .dawproject); tempo and time signature; markers; and sends.
Does Bitwig Studio export to Logic Pro?
Not in a form Logic Pro reads. Bitwig exports DAWproject, which Logic Pro doesn’t import, and its own .bwproject is undocumented. Converting the exported .dawproject rebuilds the project for Logic — that’s what Doseedo does.
Do plugins carry over from Bitwig to Logic?
Third-party effects arrive as the same plugin with their saved settings when the plugin is installed on the Logic machine. The format’s built-in EQ, compressor, gate and limiter map to Logic’s own devices with their settings. Nothing is faked: whatever doesn’t cross the Bitwig–Logic boundary is named in the conversion report.
Do I need Bitwig Studio installed to convert?
Only to export the .dawproject — Bitwig is what writes it. Converting a .dawproject needs no DAW at all; you need Logic Pro to open the result.
