Logic Pro saves projects as .logicx packages; Bitwig Studio saves .bwproject files — and imports the open DAWproject format. Logic Pro writes neither. Doseedo converts the project itself: upload the .logicx, download a .dawproject Bitwig imports, with the arrangement in place.

Why there's no built-in way

Apple and Bitwig share no project format. Bitwig Studio can’t open a .logicx, and Logic Pro has no Bitwig export. What Bitwig does read is DAWproject — the open format Bitwig created with PreSonus — and Logic Pro doesn’t write it. So the usual fallback is stems, which flattens the project. Doseedo writes the .dawproject Logic can’t.

How the conversion works

Doseedo reads the Logic Pro project with the same native engine as its other directions and writes one .dawproject file, with the audio inside it; Bitwig Studio 5 or later imports it. We’ve opened the converter’s output in Bitwig Studio 6.1.4 on a real machine. Why not a .bwproject? Bitwig’s own format isn’t publicly documented, and a file we can’t be sure opens would only look like a conversion. Zip the .logicx package first (right-click it in Finder → Compress) and upload the zip.

What carries over — and what doesn't

Logic → Bitwig carries the arrangement, honestly scoped. What arrives editable: tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; MIDI clips with every note; audio clips with their files inside the .dawproject; tempo, time signature and markers.

Plugin chains aren’t promised on this pair yet — the conversion report names every plugin and what became of it. Automation isn’t promised on this pair yet. Nothing is silently dropped — every conversion comes with a report of what changed.

Do I need Logic or Bitwig installed?

Not to convert. The conversion runs on the project itself. You need Bitwig Studio 5 or later to import the result.

FAQ

Can you convert a Logic Pro project to Bitwig Studio?

Yes. Upload a .logicx to Doseedo and download a .dawproject Bitwig Studio imports. What arrives editable: tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; MIDI clips with every note; audio clips with their files inside the .dawproject; tempo, time signature and markers.

Does Logic Pro export to Bitwig Studio?

No. Logic Pro has no Bitwig export and doesn’t write DAWproject, the open format Bitwig imports. Doseedo writes that .dawproject for you — the real project, not stems.

Do plugins carry over from Logic to Bitwig?

Plugin chains aren’t promised on this pair yet — the conversion report names every plugin and what became of it. Nothing is faked: whatever doesn’t cross the Logic–Bitwig boundary is named in the conversion report.

Do I need Logic Pro installed to convert to Bitwig?

No. The conversion works on the project itself — you only need Bitwig Studio 5 or later to import the .dawproject it writes.
