FL Studio saves projects as .flp files; Bitwig Studio saves .bwproject files — and imports the open DAWproject format. FL Studio writes neither. Doseedo converts the project itself: upload the .flp, download a .dawproject Bitwig imports, with the arrangement in place.

Why there's no built-in way

Image-Line and Bitwig share no project format. Bitwig Studio can’t open a .flp, and FL Studio has no Bitwig export. What Bitwig does read is DAWproject — the open format Bitwig created with PreSonus — and FL Studio doesn’t write it. So the usual fallback is stems, which flattens the project. Doseedo writes the .dawproject FL Studio can’t.

How the conversion works

Doseedo reads the FL Studio project with the same native engine as its other directions and writes one .dawproject file, with the audio inside it; Bitwig Studio 5 or later imports it. We’ve opened the converter’s output in Bitwig Studio 6.1.4 on a real machine. Why not a .bwproject? Bitwig’s own format isn’t publicly documented, and a file we can’t be sure opens would only look like a conversion. Zip the project folder (the .flp plus its audio) so the samples travel; a bare .flp converts too.

What carries over — and what doesn't

FL Studio → Bitwig carries the arrangement, honestly scoped. What arrives editable: tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; MIDI clips with every note; audio clips with their files inside the .dawproject; tempo, time signature and markers.

Plugin chains aren’t promised on this pair yet — the conversion report names every plugin and what became of it. Automation isn’t promised on this pair yet. Nothing is silently dropped — every conversion comes with a report of what changed.

Do I need FL Studio or Bitwig installed?

Not to convert. The conversion runs on the project itself. You need Bitwig Studio 5 or later to import the result.

FAQ

Can you convert a FL Studio project to Bitwig Studio?

Yes. Upload a .flp to Doseedo and download a .dawproject Bitwig Studio imports. What arrives editable: tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; MIDI clips with every note; audio clips with their files inside the .dawproject; tempo, time signature and markers.

Does FL Studio export to Bitwig Studio?

No. FL Studio has no Bitwig export and doesn’t write DAWproject, the open format Bitwig imports. Doseedo writes that .dawproject for you — the real project, not stems.

Do plugins carry over from FL Studio to Bitwig?

Plugin chains aren’t promised on this pair yet — the conversion report names every plugin and what became of it. Nothing is faked: whatever doesn’t cross the FL Studio–Bitwig boundary is named in the conversion report.

Do I need FL Studio installed to convert to Bitwig?

No. The conversion works on the project itself — you only need Bitwig Studio 5 or later to import the .dawproject it writes.
