Doseedo vs ACE Studio
Published November 2026 · Updated November 5, 2026
Doseedo is an AI film scorer in your browser: upload your film and an AI composer watches the cut, then writes, plays and mixes an original score that lands on the cuts. Every part is its own native stem with its MIDI, so one part, one bar or one cue can be changed without regenerating the rest. ACE Studio Video Composer is a desktop AI music workstation (Mac and Windows) whose Video Composer agent, in beta, watches a video and drafts cues on its timeline as audio clips. Both are compared here from their own pages, checked November 5, 2026, with a source for every line.
Your first film score is free: sign up with a verified email and it is on us, up to 300 credits.
The difference
ACE Studio is a workstation you compose in: you write MIDI and its AI singers and instruments perform it, and Video Composer drafts cues for a video as audio clips you then arrange. Doseedo is a scorer: its composer writes every part of every cue as notes to the cut, each part is played as its own stem, and the film comes back mixed and delivered, with the session to open in Logic Pro or Ableton Live. ACE gives you a deeper instrument to play yourself; Doseedo does the scoring and hands you the parts.

| Revise one part or bar, or regenerate | Yes. One part, one bar range or one cue; every other part keeps its take | Partly. Regenerates a selected range or cue, refined by chat; your own MIDI is edited note by note |
| Agent access (MCP or API) | Yes. A hosted MCP server: the same loop from ChatGPT or Claude | Partly. A local MCP server and CLI, "currently experimental"; web ChatGPT or Claude "cannot connect" |
| Rights on the free tier | Yes. You own what you make on every plan (Terms §6.3); uploads are not trained on (§6.2) | Not stated. You retain all rights to Output; whether a free tier exists is unclear (100 monthly credits, but "an active subscription is required") |

Where ACE Studio is the better choice
Note-level AI singers and instruments played from your own MIDI, with articulations, a DAW bridge and video scoring in one app. Choose it when you write the notes yourself in a desktop workstation, want AI singers as well as instruments, or need ARA sync with Logic, Cubase or Studio One.
Where Doseedo is
- The music has to follow this cut. Every cut is found to the frame and the hits land on downbeats; frames you mark become downbeats.
- You will give notes. Every part is its own stem with its notes, so "the horns in bar 12" re-plays only those bars of that part.
- Someone will finish it in a DAW. The whole score opens in Logic Pro, Ableton Live or REAPER, every part a track with its audio and MIDI. See the session.
- It has to be delivered. The scored film, a printmaster, an M&E and a cue sheet, at broadcast, streaming or web loudness.
- You want to own it from the free plan. Your first film score is free with a verified email, and you own what you make on every plan (Terms §6.3).
What it costs
Your first film score is free. A free account with a verified email gets a one-time 300 credits for its first score, on top of the 120 a month, and the composer plans that score to fit them, so a long film is scored where it matters most.
After that, watching the film, mixing and delivery stay free. The performances use credits, like any render on Doseedo: 10 credits for every 30 seconds of music for each group of up to six parts, and a flat 20 to split the film's own soundtrack. A one-minute scene with a mid-size orchestra is usually 60 to 140 credits; the panel shows the estimate for your film before you start, beside what you have left.
A free account comes with 120 credits a month. Pro is $12 a month with 2,000. You own what you make, to the extent the law allows (Terms §6.3).

Does ACE Studio give stems and MIDI?
Stems: Your MIDI tracks export one by one (native); generated audio is separated after the fact. Notes: A piano roll and MIDI or MusicXML import in the workstation; Video Composer itself returns audio clips. Doseedo returns every part as its own native stem with its MIDI, and the whole score as a Logic Pro, Ableton Live or REAPER session from the Export session button, at no credits.
Can ACE Studio change one instrument or one bar?
Regenerates a selected range or cue, refined by chat; your own MIDI is edited note by note. In Doseedo a note on one part, one bar range or one cue re-plays only that; every other part keeps its take.
Can I use ACE Studio music in a film on the free plan?
You retain all rights to Output; whether a free tier exists is unclear (100 monthly credits, but "an active subscription is required"). On Doseedo you own what you make on every plan, the free one included (Terms §6.3).

What is the best ACE Studio alternative for film scoring?
For a score that follows the cut and stays editable part by part, Doseedo: it watches the film, writes every part as notes, plays each as its own stem and delivers the scored film with an M&E and a DAW session. Where ACE Studio is the better choice is on this page too.
