Pro Tools saves projects as .ptx files; Studio One (now Fender Studio Pro) saves .song files — and imports the open DAWproject format. Pro Tools writes neither. Doseedo converts the project itself: upload the .ptx, download a .dawproject Studio One imports, with the arrangement in place.
Why there's no built-in way
Avid and Fender (formerly PreSonus) share no project format. Studio One can’t open a .ptx, and Pro Tools has no Studio One export. What Studio One does read is DAWproject — the open format PreSonus created with Bitwig — and Pro Tools doesn’t write it. So the usual fallback is stems, which flattens the project. Doseedo writes the .dawproject Pro Tools can’t.
How the conversion works
Doseedo reads the Pro Tools project with the same native engine as its other directions and writes one .dawproject file, with the audio inside it; Studio One / Fender Studio Pro 6.5 or later imports it. Why not a .song? Studio One’s own format isn’t publicly documented, and a file we can’t be sure opens would only look like a conversion. Pro Tools keeps audio outside the session file, in the session's Audio Files folder — so zip the whole session folder (the .ptx with its Audio Files/) and upload the zip. A bare .ptx converts too, but it carries structure and MIDI only, no audio. Legacy .ptf and .pts sessions convert the same way.
What carries over — and what doesn't
Pro Tools → Studio One carries the arrangement, honestly scoped. What arrives editable: tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; MIDI clips with every note; audio clips with their files inside the .dawproject; tempo, time signature and markers.
Plugin chains aren’t promised on this pair yet — the conversion report names every plugin and what became of it. Automation isn’t promised on this pair yet. Nothing is silently dropped — every conversion comes with a report of what changed.
Do I need Pro Tools or Studio One installed?
Not to convert. The conversion runs on the project itself. You need Studio One / Fender Studio Pro 6.5 or later to import the result.

FAQ
Can you convert a Pro Tools project to Studio One?
Yes. Upload a .ptx to Doseedo and download a .dawproject Studio One imports. What arrives editable: tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; MIDI clips with every note; audio clips with their files inside the .dawproject; tempo, time signature and markers.
Does Pro Tools export to Studio One?
No. Pro Tools has no Studio One export and doesn’t write DAWproject, the open format Studio One imports. Doseedo writes that .dawproject for you — the real project, not stems.
Do plugins carry over from Pro Tools to Studio One?
Plugin chains aren’t promised on this pair yet — the conversion report names every plugin and what became of it. Nothing is faked: whatever doesn’t cross the Pro Tools–Studio One boundary is named in the conversion report.
Do I need Pro Tools installed to convert to Studio One?
No. The conversion works on the project itself — you only need Studio One / Fender Studio Pro 6.5 or later to import the .dawproject it writes.
