Full walkthrough: How to convert your session to another DAW

§ What transfers

What comes across

Every track, clip and note — rebuilt natively in REAPER, not flattened to stems.

Tracks incl. groups Arrangement MIDI Audio clips Sample files Track levels Markers Tempo & sig Plugin chains not yet Built-in devices reported Automation not yet
§ Honesty

Told straight, never silently dropped

Tracks and group tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; clips with every note; audio with its files (they travel inside the .dawproject); tempo and time signature; markers. Third-party plugin state doesn’t cross into REAPER yet. The format’s built-in EQ, compressor, gate and limiter don’t map to REAPER’s native effects yet, and the report names each one. Bitwig’s own instruments and devices, CLAP plugins and clip gain don’t come across — the report names each one. Automation isn’t promised on this pair yet. Nothing is silently dropped — every conversion comes with a report of what changed.

§ Privacy

Your music stays yours

Local conversions stay right in your browser — your session never leaves your computer, nothing uploaded, nothing stored. Uploaded sessions move over an encrypted connection into your own private space, with access only you control, and yours to delete anytime.

§ Questions

Bitwig to REAPER — common questions

Can REAPER open a Bitwig Studio .dawproject file?

Not as a native REAPER project — Doseedo converts it: upload your .dawproject (in Bitwig Studio: File › Export… › DAWproject — the audio travels inside that one file; a native .bwproject can’t be read) and it rebuilds the project as a native REAPER .rpp project you can open and keep working in.

Which file do I export from Bitwig?

A .dawproject: in Bitwig Studio choose File › Export… › DAWproject. That one file carries the tracks, clips, notes, audio, mixer and plugins. A native .bwproject can’t be read — its format is Bitwig’s own and undocumented. Any .dawproject converts the same way, whoever wrote it: Studio One 6.5+ and Cubase 14+ export one too.

How do I export or transfer a Bitwig Studio project to REAPER?

People describe the same job five ways — export Bitwig Studio to REAPER, import a .dawproject into REAPER, transfer the project, open a Bitwig Studio project in REAPER — and none of it needs stems. Upload the .dawproject and it converts to a native REAPER .rpp project with tracks, MIDI, audio and the tempo map intact.

What carries over from Bitwig to REAPER?

Tracks and group tracks with their names, levels, pans and mutes; clips with every note; audio with its files (they travel inside the .dawproject); tempo and time signature; markers. Third-party plugin state doesn’t cross into REAPER yet. The format’s built-in EQ, compressor, gate and limiter don’t map to REAPER’s native effects yet, and the report names each one. Bitwig’s own instruments and devices, CLAP plugins and clip gain don’t come across — the report names each one. Automation isn’t promised on this pair yet.

Do my plugins transfer from Bitwig to REAPER?

Third-party plugin state doesn’t cross into REAPER yet. The format’s built-in EQ, compressor, gate and limiter don’t map to REAPER’s native effects yet, and the report names each one. Nothing is faked: whatever doesn’t cross the Bitwig–REAPER boundary is named in the conversion report.

Is my project private?

Your project is uploaded over an encrypted connection into your own private space, converted, and is yours to delete anytime.

How many conversions are free?

3 conversions a month with no account; a free account gets 120 credits a month and Pro 2,000 (a conversion is 1 credit), every plan at full fidelity. No watermark, cancel in one click. One conversion is one project translated one direction; a round-trip is two.
