The DAW converter: Logic Pro ⇄ Ableton Live
If you've moved a song from Logic to Ableton you know the drill. Bounce stems, drag them in, rebuild everything by hand. We built a converter so you don't have to.
What it does
Drop in a zipped .logicx and you get a native .als back. Drop in an .als and you get a .logicx. It figures out the direction from the file.
It rebuilds the whole project in the other DAW's format, so you can keep working on it:
- Tracks and regions, right where they were
- MIDI you can edit
- Automation, tempo and meter changes, markers
- Buses and sends, so the mix is routed the same
Plugins
Third party plugins come over as themselves, settings and all. Stock plugins are different. Logic's ChromaVerb and Live's Glue Compressor are separate pieces of software, so we map each one to the closest thing the other DAW has. If there's nothing close, the device still shows up on the right track so you can see what to replace.
